Sports and Entertainments

National, International and a number of local games and sports are played in Haluaghat Upazila. Footbal,Cricket and Vallybal are popular forms of amusement and essential element of Upazila culture. Kabadi is the national sports of Bangladesh and not exception to Haluaghat Upazila.Traditional sports like kabadi, dariabandha, lathi khela, dangdudi are played in the rural areas while foreign sports like cricket, football, vollyball are played mostly. Inter-Scholl football competitions, Promode Mankin Footbal Taurnament, Upazila Chairman Gold Cup football tournament were played last year.

      In the near past Jattra was the most well-liked entertainment means for this Upazila. The traditional dance and song of Garo community and other ethnic minority groups are the most popular items of entertainment in this area. The most prevalent folk songs of Bhatiali, Boul, Garo songs and many other unknown anonymous lyricists have enriched the areas of entertainment of Haluaghat Upazila.
