Language and Culture

Geographical position of Haluaghat Upazila plays an important role to set up distinctive  culture. Haluaghat Upazila was a region of peace-loving indigenous groups of Garo, Hazong Kuch, Banai and Hodi. Among them the Garo community is the greater part of segment. Apart from the Bengali practices, the Churches and other development organizations yet observe various days of festivals like Wangala, Rugala and Meddi Amuah etc. Garo people wear a variety of conventional dresses and ornaments enthusiastically. Traditional affaires, practices and cultural dynamicity yet differentiate this Upazila then others. They have unique language and expressions which they use in parallel with themselves.
